Therapeutic Contact with Horses
Horses communicate mainly without speech, using their incomparable ability to pass and receive messages, express emotions and delineate with their body language.
The Therapeutic Contact program is for children, adolescents and adults who do not communicate or behave in a “typical” way, but they use exactly the path that horses do. Thus, horses take on the role of teacher-therapist, and only with their presence and participation provide excellent incentives for learning and change in behavior and psychosynthesis of the person involved, in a “quiet” and non-invasive way.
Depending on the needs and pace of the individual, the program is enriched with occupational therapy, speech therapy and psychoeducational elements, which are introduced gradually, after a sense of security and trust is established between team members (coordinator, horse, participant).
